THE WEATHER
What can I say about that other than it changes?! Typically in October during the rut elk hunts the weather is fair. A light jacket is usually all that is needed then. Sometimes fall can be fairly wet so rain gear would be nice. Temperatures are moderate.

CLOTHES
Bring camouflage both light weight and something a little warmer. There are no orange requirements in New Mexico. You should bring a camo net face mask and gloves. Yes I know that sounds strange but please do. We often get very close.
